It's all Black and White to me

In an economic world where designers and consumers are taking a more conservative approach to fashion... it appears the black and white print is back. this however is not your grandmothers black and white, with nods to the past, prints seem to be heavily influenced by art.

Thoralf's Boats

 Thoralf Knobloch currently on exhibition at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery ( 554 west 26th street ) is truly a breath taking show. His use of paint, color as well as textures inspired this group of images. A normally classic palette of reds, blues, whites with a hint of yellow seem to be reinvented in his images....

Visions d'Espagne

While perusing the shelves of my favorite store Strand Book Store ( http://www.strandbooks.com ) i happened upon an old art magazine called L'Illustration from Winter 1939.. one of the featured stories was Vision d'Espagne ( visions from Spain )... the printed images seemed to glow with subtle hints of silver and shades of metallics. This story is inspired by those washed metallics.. earth tones and chambray blues.....
